I feel like I’ve been waiting for Friday night for eternity but it was definitely worth the wait.
After providing such a mind blowing ending to my Creamfields experience on the Sunday last year, Fatboy Slim has been on my hit list to see as soon as he toured again. When me, Emma and Scaz caught whiff of his appearance at The Albert Hall there was no question about it, we were off.
We started out on Friday boozing at bloody 1pm in The Bank pub and then we checked in at our hotel which was literally less than a 5 minute walk to the Albert Hall. We planned this on purpose after a horrific past experience trying to get back to hotel after Heldens in December.
We dumped our shit and then we commenced our WOWCHER HOTEL CRAWL. I believe we are probably the only cunning candidates that secured 6 gins, 4 cocktails and a sharing platter of meat n cheese for 18 quid each. For our 4 cocktails we went to 24 bar & grill. Deal here.
For our 6 gins and meat and cheese platter we hopped on a 10 minute tram to the gorgeous Salford Quays to head to the AC Marriott hotel to pretend to be classy for a couple of hours. The pre rave meat and cheese went off and all our choices out of the gazillion gin options were unreal. Deal here.
We ditched the class at the exit of the AC hotel and hopped in an Uber back to the Premier Inn to get our sparkle on. We had party prosecco, my Norman playlist BLASTING and we wasted a lot of energy prematurely dancing around.
I got the excuse to finally wear my beautiful sparkly top from Elsie & Fred that I purchased in their sale in January. I was going to wear this to Manchester last month but I found the new stripey co-ord on depop that blew it out of the water at the time.
You can still buy the top here for only £15.50! Elsie & Fred have amazing stock that will kit you out with a 10/10 festival summer look. A lot of their stuff I would wear every day, it’s not just strictly for extra events. I’m still totally in love with this little square neck top, it was so comfy and light weight all night too – I’m definitely packing this for Ibiza.
As the Albert Hall is the hottest mofukin place known to man, I wore my black little monki skirt. I also wore my beloved plastic perspex belt with eyelets that I bought in a vintage shop on Brick Ln in London as a one-off. Even though it’s plus 50 degrees in the Albert Hall it’s still like -18392 degrees outside in Manchester so I completed my outfit with my leopard print jacket steal from Depop. I also wore this to Bassfest, as if I’m recycling outfits…
We got into in very early so we could chill with a drink and get a good spot. We then had to wait until 2am for Norman (fatboy) to come on as he was on last until 4. He opened with a mix of Praise you and Harry Potter theme tune which was obviously magical, I screamed a lot, and it only got better and better and better.
